On February 6, an internet user posted an article in the web forum Pann, titled, "Isn't (G)I-DLE Soyeon considered pretty?"

In particular, the OP expressed curiosity as to why the idol gets hate for her visuals, then praising her for having the most beautiful nose next to Miyeon, (G)I-DLE's main visual.

When the post was uploaded, it amassed over 67k views, and as expected, it attracted malicious comments criticizing Soyeon's visuals.

In the comments section, netters insisted that Soyeon is only pretty when she's wearing makeup, saying that all netizens who received idol care will become celebrities as well if she's considered a visual.

Amid these negative comments, Soyeon's fans filled the comments section with praises on her visuals, emphasizing that she's pretty with or without cosmetics.

In fact, some said they prefer her natural beauty and thanked her for not giving in to the societal pressure to get plastic surgery. Instead, she embraced her own beauty, which also inspired love, confidence, and inspiration to her fans.

Fans continued that beauty is subjective, and in this case, they acknowledge that Soyeon may not be liked by everyone, but it doesn't mean that she is unpretty just because she doesn't have the traditional Korean beauty features.
