Rain Hints At Retirement After Final Comeback Album In Late 2017

Rain has announced that he will be making a comeback in November or December this year but before fans can celebrate, he also raised the subject of retiring from singing and dancing. The singer and actor made the statement during the Viral Fiesta in Bangkok.

According to a report by Officially KMusic, Rain announced that he is working on his comeback album which he is eyeing to release late this year. He said that in keeping with his previous releases, his new material will feature his signature style of singing and dancing that even younger singers will find hard to emulate.

However, Rain said that after making aggressive approaches in the music field in his previous outings, he is considering taking a backseat from it after his upcoming album. "I think after making aggressive approaches at least one or two times I will consider exiting the singing and dancing field," the "Full House" actor said. Rain didn't say, however, that he will be quitting the music business altogether which could mean that he could still be involved in the industry in some capacity.

It can be recalled that Rain's last comeback came in the form of "The Best Present" in which he collaborated with "Gangnam Style" singer and good friend PSY. The album was dedicated to Rain's wife, actress Kim Tae Hee before they got married.

It was recently reported that Rain and Kim Tae Hee are getting ready to welcome their first child after the announcement from the actress' agency that she was already 15 weeks pregnant. Rain said that in this stage in his life, the only way to describe his feelings was "ecstatic."

Rain is currently completing the filming of his biographical drama "Uhm Bok-Dong" which tells the story of Korean cyclist who became a symbol of pride for the country when he made a landmark victory against Japanese cyclists at the height of the Japanese colonial period. The film is expected to release in the second half of 2017.
