Houston Rockets In Trouble? James Harden Poor Play And Unhealthy Dwight Howard Reasons For 0-3 Start

The Houston Rockets are off to their worst start among all NBA teams as they have lost three straight games and losing by as much as 20 points in each of those games.

Dwight Howard is not yet 100 percent while James Harden is playing poor basketball during the stretch. Also, the team chemistry is obviously just beginning to develop with Ty Lawson taking the helm at the point guard position.

The Rockets were routed by the Denver Nuggets and the Golden State Warriors in their past two games. But against the Heat, they were off to a great start but ended up getting outscored by 41 points in the second half.

According to Yahoo Sports, a halftime speech by Udonis Haslem reinvigorated the struggling heat. What did he say?

According to Heat guard Dwyane Wade, ''It was all bleep, bleep, bleep.''

''At times, I can be kind of harsh,'' Haslem said. ''But it's harsh reality and it just comes out the way it comes out.''

Regardless, his actions were praised by Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.

''Absolutely awesome,'' Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. ''That's what leaders do. By the time I got in there, he was already halfway through it and there wasn't much that was needed to be said after that.''

Going back to the Rockets, the terrible start is simply excusable for a team that reached the Western Conference Finals last season. Harden, the MVP candidate, is nowhere near the level he was at last year.

Head coach Kevin McHale admits that they have yet to find their groove but that is not an excuse for their poor start.

''We have not played well all preseason. We have not played well in the first three games,'' Rockets coach Kevin McHale said. ''No one feels sorry for us. We just have got to go out and find our rhythm and keep on playing.''

The Rockets are set to face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Nov. 2. Will they finally be able to win their first game?
