Megadeth Drops 12-Inch Vinyl Record ‘The Threat Is Real’; Every Friday Is Black Friday For Megadeath; Includes Megadeath’s Version of Fear’s ‘Foreign Policy’

Megadeath wants to celebrate Black Friday again. The metal band released "The Threat Is Real" on 12-inch'' vinyl for Black Friday.

"Support Record Store Day Black Friday - or else!" said Dave Mustaine.

The rest of the Megadeath lineup is comprised of David "Junior" Ellefson on bass, new member Kiko Loureiro (formerly of Angra) on guitar, and drummer Chris Adler, who took time away from Lamb of God to record Dystopia.

Megadeth's landmark second album Peace Sells ... But Who's Buying? included an iconic track that's gone down in Megadeth (and metal) history: "Black Friday."

The special release will include two brand new tracks from the new album Dystopia.

With musical architect and band visionary Dave Mustaine at the helm, Dystopia was recorded in Nashville, TN, and mixed by Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God, Gojira, Avenged Sevenfold).

"Fatal Illusion" was the first track released from the album and garnered major praise from press. Rolling Stone says, "heavy, creepy guitar... before kicking into jazz bass and a galloping thrash riff that harks back to the group's early days."

The result marks a true return to form, adding new blood and injecting a new burst of creative energy into the new album.

Megadeth burst onto the scene thirty years ago, virtually inventing a genre with their debut album Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good! (recently recognized by VH1 as the Greatest Thrash Metal Debut Album of All Time) sold more than 38 million albums worldwide, earning numerous accolades including 11 Grammy nominations, scoring five consecutive platinum albums, including 1992's two-million-selling Countdown to Extinction.

In honor of Record Store Day's Black Friday 2015, Megadeth will be releasing a special 12'' vinyl single for "The Threat is Real" from the upcoming new album Dystopia, which hits record stores on January 22, 2016.

Only a limited amount of copies will be pressed in the U.S., and the b-side is another brand new recording, Megadeth's version of Fear's punk classic "Foreign Policy", which will be unavailable on any other format until its official release on Dystopia.

The 12'' will be available at all participating physical and online retailers on November 27 while "The Threat Is Real" will be available digitally.

Featuring 11 brand new tracks, Dystopia will be released on both CD and LP, as well as digitally through all online partners on January 22nd on Universal Music Enterprises / Tradecraft / T-Boy Records.
