Kerli is set to release her first music as an independent artist. Kerli is something of a Cult music icon and her fans have something of a religious devotion to the mesmerizing singer. Kerli's first single is slated for release to the public on January 29, 2016.

Kerli took to Facebook to pass around the collection plate to her fanatical following.

Kerli announced that her PledgeMusic campaign began yesterday, December 14, 2015.

"Dear Moon Children,

The time has come for me to release my first single as an independent artist. I keep being humbled by all your love and support and am so happy I can finally share my creations with you.

As many of you know, I have spent the last 8 months making art in the magical woods of my native Estonia. It has been world changing for me - I have faced my greatest fears as a human being and as an artist, releasing everything that doesn't ring true on the deepest levels of intuition and self expression.

I set up my studio in a tiny cottage with no running water and barely-there electricity and have been working away day and night to give birth to something I can feel proud to leave behind after my human form has transformed into stardust.

I wanna thank you for your love, support and patience as I am finally ready to share the first glimpse of this new world of mine with you. It is a special one not just because of how I feel about it but also because this is my first release as an independent artist.

Kerli's "Walking On Air" made the charts internationally and was downloaded more than 500,000 time swhen it was featured on the iTunes Store's Single of the Week. After Kerli's song "Tea Party" was featured on Almost Alice, she left her alternative rock sound behind and mesmerized audiences with electronic and dance music. Her first single with producer tyDi was called "Glow in the Dark."

After Kerli released the song "Love Is Dead," she got to work on her second studio album which became her second extended play Utopia. It was released in early 2013 and became Kerli's second release to chart on the Billboard 200.

As a songwriter, Kerli co-wrote "Skyscraper," which was recorded by Demi Lovato and "I Feel Immortal", which was sung by Tarja Turunen. Kerli released her version of "I Feel Immortal" on Frankenweenie Unleashed!".

In 2013, Kerli performed on Dancing with the Stars. The same year she left Island Records and signed a record deal with Ultra Music.
