New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis has been a revelation for the New York Knicks. Once touted as a prospect who will only be ready to contribute 2-3 years away from now, he is now exceeding expectations and garnering fans left and right.

He also got the approval of his superstar teammate, Carmelo Anthony who at first was thought to be a bit upset with his selection. But with the way the Latvian forward is playing, Melo couldn't be happier with how his team is performing right now.

Also, there's the talk on who is the new Alpha Dog in town. But before the media feast on their relationship, the 12-year veteran confirmed that their bond won't be affected by those kinds of talks.

"I know what we have as teammates. Nobody can come between us despite what anybody says. Nobody," Anthony told Yahoo Sports.

"When things are going good, they put you way up there. When things are going bad, they kick the chair from underneath you. Those are experiences that he is going to have to go through. But if I can be there and be that guy who can grab him up and say everything is going to be all right, I'm going to do that."

"I support him 100 percent. In New York they can run you in the ground with all that attention. I'm there to just let him know that when it's good, it's great," he added.

Perhaps, this goes back to the time when Jeremy Lin took the spotlight over at MSG and when reports of Melo being jealous of the point guard's popularity, it eventually led to their break-up. Also, former Knicks star Amare Stoudemire said before that Melo doesn't have the willingness to share the basketball which probably is the reason why their combo wasn't much of a success.

But at this point of Melo's career, he will need all the help he could get and with how Porzingis doesn't need the basketball as much as the two mentioned above, the Melo-Porzingis combo could actually be a good combination.
