While several spoilers hinted that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev will be reuniting in "The Vampire Diaries" season 7, recent reports have just debunked such claims.

In an interview with TV Line, the executive producer of the CW supernatural drama series, Caroline Dries, revealed that the 26-year-old actress is not returning to the show as a villain, rather, a look-alike is joining the cast soon.

Leslie-Anne Huff, who "bears a striking resemblance to the sleeping doppelganger," will appear on the show as the "vicious vampire hunter" Ray.

"That's definitely just a coincidence," Dries stated, something which has denied previous rumors that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev will be together again in "TVD" season 7. "We looked at a lot of actors, and I was like, 'I think she looks exactly like Nina.'"

She further noted that "I was convinced otherwise. I actually haven't met her yet in person, though, and everyone says she doesn't look like her in person."

Dries, however, admitted that "She's a great actress, and she's perfect for the role. ... We'll get to see her present-day story and then everything will click when you see her in the future."

On the other hand, Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that Nina Dobrev is not keen about returning to "TVD" season 7 and be with Ian Somerhalder and that the show might just be facing its end soon.

"Even though 'TVD' is sinking faster than the Titanic right now, Nina just can't even stomach working with Ian again and refuses to be on set with her former flame," the outlet said.

The site further claimed that "Dobrev has been firm about now wanting to return to her former stomping grounds on The CW."

Meanwhile, when it comes to "TVD's" life span, Celeb Dirty Laundry speculated that there is a "looming cancellation" considering that it has been transferred to a different timeslot.

"Every actor knows when their show goes to Friday night, it's only a matter of time before they are off the air entirely," the report pointed out.

With these new reports, it seems that a reunion of Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev in "TVD" season 7 is not possible.
