Linkin Park New Album Updates: Songs In New LP ‘Personal And Revealing,’ Mike Shinoda Says

Linkin Park mainman Mike Shinoda has, once again, offered the fans new updates to their much-awaited new album and follow-up to 2014's "The Hunting Party."

In his new update, Mike Shinoda tells the fans that the band is already at the final phase of their album production as they begin to choose the tracks that will make the cut in their new album.

"As things move forward, you might be the first ones to learn about certain parts of the album. Not sure what that means yet-could be a song title, a lyric, who knows," Mike Shinoda said in his letter (via Musicology).

"We just started narrowing down to some of our favorite songs," Mike Shinoda added. "And we're starting to put our first 'final' vocals on them."

Shinoda further shared that their new LP will be getting really personal, saying, "As I listen through them, I feel like these songs are really personal and revealing. We have really poured our hearts into the words and melodies, and it's starting to show as we approach recording the 'keeper' vocals."

"With that said, we've got a lot of material to choose from, and decided to get votes from all six of the guys in the band, to see which songs are rising to the top. We clearly have an album in there. We're looking forward to getting the vocals right, and starting to put sounds on them. Keyboards / samples and drums are high on the list... but first, we're going to get some of these vocals nailed down," he finally said.

International Business Times highlighted in its report its interest on the direction Linkin Park is taking with its new album, especially that the band has promised a different approach it has used in working on with the new album. It added that the album is expected to be out this year and further said that fans should expect a full-blown concert series along with the new album's release.
