Ryeowook Enlists in Army as an Active Duty Soldier; Yunho on A Break from Service

Super Junior's Ryeowook has enlisted in the army today. He is part of the active duty which made the Korean netizens happy as he did not neglect his duties as a Korean man.

It was first reported that Ryeowook was going to enlist in June. However, Ryeowook postponed his enlistment back in June as reported by Yibada. Now, he really did push through with his enlistment. Ryeowook will serve as an active soldier and not a public one.

Most Super Junior members have already served the army or are still serving. Their leader, Lee Teuk, and Heechul, Yesung, Kangin are all done. Donghae, Eunhyuk and Siwon are now actively serving in the army. Their maknae, Kyuhyun, is the only member left. Fans are expecting Kyuhyun to enlist early next year.

According to Netizen Buzz, Super Junior's leader, Lee Teuk, came with Ryeowook to send him to the army. Ryeowook has already his buzz cut. Super junior fans were also there to show support for Ryeowook. Lee Teuk even jokingly taught Ryeowook the right way to salute. Before going in, Ryeowook pose with his fans for the last time.

In related news, TVXQ's leader, Yunho, was seen on a vacation. Netizen Buzz reported that TVXQ's Yunho was seen outside of the army with friends. Yunho enlisted back in July last year. Yunho is also currently serving active duty. His co-member, Changmin is reported to enlist next year also. Yunho will be discharged from the army in April of 2017.

A celebrity enlisting is such a big deal in Korea. Whether they are singers, actors or comedians, most of them are reported. Many actors got into scandals and ruined their image while deciding to go into the army. There are also celebrities who get acknowledgment from the public after serving quietly and peacefully.
