Park Bom confirms on Twitter she is still a singer
Park Bom a former member of 2NE1 has recently confirmed that she is still a singer.
She was having a conversation with her fans on Twitter where one of her fans asked that was she still a professional singer, employed under YG Entertainments or still deciding about her future to which Park Bom responded by saying that she was still a professional singer as reported in allkpop.
Park Bom made her debut in the year 2006 featuring Big Bang, Lexy, Masta Wu and Lee Hyori. Her debut with South Korea girl group 2NE1 was in the year 2009 which was signed under YG Entertainment. The group got disbanded on November 25, 2016.
She released her two solo singles, 'You and I' and 'Don't Cry' which were at number one on the Gaon Digital Chart.
Park Bom was reported to make her solo debut after 2NE1 disbanded her, according to yibada. YG Entertainment made an official statement "Our contract with 2NE1 came to an end in May of 2016, and as we faced a situation where Minzy is no longer with us, we ultimately came to a decision of 2NE1's official disbandment after a long discussion.
For the past 7 years, 2NE1 was a representative group of YG. We, too, cannot express how upset and disappointed we are. However, we judge that it'll be difficult to continue promoting. We decided that instead of looking forward to 2NE1's unpredictable promotions, we should rather focus on the solo promotions of the members.
We sincerely appreciate everyone who loved 2NE1 and their music."
In the year 2009 and 2010, she was nominated for 'You and I' for 'Most Iconic Kpop song ever' and 'Best Digital Single' and she won both the awards.
She was investigated in the year 2010 for drug smuggling as a package sent by one of her relatives from the US was stopped at Incheon International Airport customs but because of her celebrity status the case wasn't looked much behind.
It would be interesting to see when she returns to her singing career.
