It's been years since "Playful Kiss" actor Kim Hyun Joong started his court battle with his ex-girlfriend who was widely known in her alias as Miss Choi. Here's what transpired during his court hearing last January 11.

On a report released by All Kpop last week, the idol-turned-actor and Ms. Choi are left hanging as the court failed to settle the case on the latest hearing last January 11. The said case covered the appeal of Kim Hyun Joong's side for the damage compensation.

According to the same report, the said hearing also covered the changes on the compensation. Ms. Choi's lawyer imparted that due to the mental stress brought by the long case, the damage compensation was decreased to KRW 700 million instead of the initial KRW 1.6 biilion. There were also some talks about the interest of the two parties to get back together and their parents' sides during the hearing.

The case got even more complicated as some insiders noted that Kim Hyun Joong paid a lower settlement money which violated the previously agreed deal. On January 6, it was also revealed that Ms. Choi contributed to this complication, as she was charged with defamation and accused of fraud based from the reports of the prosecutor.

Soompi revealed that this case dates back way back in 2014 when Ms. Choi charged Kim Hyun Joong of assault. This was soon dropped when the actor apologized to Ms. Choi while paying for a fine. It didn't stop there as Kim Hyun Joong was later on accused for causing Ms. Choi's miscarriage during the assault.

Because of this controversy, Kim Hyun Joong's side was deeply worried as this event truly scarred the actor's reputation as an idol and actor especially that he's still serving for the military. The actor's side shared that Kim Hyun Joong will be discharged on February 11.
