Netizens Discover When TWICE's Dating Ban Ended
Following TWICE member Chaeyoung's dating rumors went viral worldwide, Korean netizens have started looking for evidence that could suggest when TWICE's dating ban ended. Read more to hear about the info they found.
Netizens have resurfaced an old clip from 2016 when TWICE member Sana and Jeongyeon appeared on MBC's 'Radio Star'. There, the girls revealed that they, just like other JYP Entertainment artists, had a dating ban.
Jeongyeon revealed the length of the dating ban, saying, "At JYP Entertainment, they told us that we would be having a three-year dating ban."
At the time, TWICE was only a year into their careers. "Until now, we promoted for one year," the two revealed. "So we only have two years left on our dating ban."
Sana decided to crack a joke, claiming she found a loophole in JYP Entertainment's infamous dating ban. "Park Jin Young said that we cannot date for the first three years," she started. "But he never said anything about us having flings!"
Netizens were quick to do the math to solve when TWICE's dating ban ended. The JYP Entertainment girl group debuted in October of 2015. Since their dating ban lasts for three years, the girls were officially allowed to start dating in October 2018.
Two members of TWICE are confirmed to be in a relationship, while Chaeyoung is rumored to be dating her tattoo artist. Leader Jihyo was the first to be confirmed in a relationship. In 2019, reports came out that she was dating former Wanna One member, Kang Daniel. The two later confirmed that the two were in fact in a relationship. The news was received positively, and the two were dubbed as South Korea's new "power couple".
Member Momo was the next member to have her relationship revealed. On Jan. 1, 2020, reports came out that Momo was dating Super Junior member Heechul. Their agencies later confirmed the news. In a survey by Joy News 24 in October 2020, their relationship was named one of the biggest scandals in the entertainment industry in 2020 by entertainment companies, broadcasting employees, film and broadcasting content producers, and entertainment department reporters.
While Chaeyoung has yet to confirm if she is in a relationship, netizens have presented proof that she is currently dating her tattoo artist, Chimhwasa, whose real name is Jung Sung Hyun. Netizens claim that a photo of a couple at the grocery is Chaeyoung and the man, citing the same fuzzy white hat she showed on 'Radio Star'.
Fans also claim the couple was seen wearing matching clothing, such as couple rings. He also posted a photo of a girl he drew on his Instagram that features the same mole on the left side of her face as Chaeyoung.

JYP Entertainment gave a short comment on the situation, saying they have no stance on the rumors regarding her relationship. Due to the lack of denial or confirmation on the subject, people wonder if she actually is dating that man.
