Europe's First K-Pop Girl Group KAACHI Enchants Fans With 'Photo Magic'

Europe's first-ever K-Pop group, KAACHI, retakes the world by storm with their comeback single "Photo Magic," released last November 4.

The four-piece K-Pop girl group - with members Coco, Nicole, Chunseo, and Dani - based in the United Kingdom has released the music video of the new single on their official YouTube channel and has easily surpassed 1 million views a week after its release. Producers behind the upbeat track describe "Photo Magic" as a fusion of British grime, a layer of hip-hop rhythms, woven by energetic Korean pop - both in its visuals and in the song's lyrics.

The music video follows the girls' story in finding new opportunities and goals, marked with strong chants and equally powerful dance routines. It ends with a hopeful message to their fans - "Unlock Your Magic" - in both English and Spanish.

Frontrow Records executive producer Monica Lee, together with co-producer Junyoung Kim, directed the overall production of the track. Multi Platinum pop producer Dele Ladimeji (Arashi's "Rock This," Mel "Sporty Spice" C's "Beautiful Intentions") and Mane Guedon composed the single, with finishing touches from London-based professional mix engineer Jonas Westling.

"I have worked with many successful artists at various stages of their careers and it is always rewarding to be involved with a band like KAACHI who work hard, are ready to listen and learn, have something to say, and have an appreciation for their craft. They have drive and good positive energy, they bring something new to the party which makes KAACHI fresh and impactful!" Ladimeji said in a statement.

As for the girls' steps, choreographer Jay Kim from the famous 1Million Dance Studio bridged the time gap between South Korea and the UK to direct the routines and integrate the dance styles K-Pop groups have become equally famous for.

"We set a goal to make harmony between  freedom and unique grooves of each of the members and the K-pop typical dance style with perfect sync together," Kim explained in an interview. "It is hard to keep 'developing' without giving up as an artist, but people around the world are able to feel their sweat and efforts through 'Photo Magic.'"

The World to KAACHI: "Your Turn"

Europe's first K-Pop group debuted earlier this year, releasing their debut single "Your Turn" on April 29, 2020. As of this writing, its official music video on YouTube has already garnered more than 12 million views. Representing K-Pop on the global stage, KAACHI is composed of four members Nicole (Venezuelan & Spanish), Coco (Korean), Dani (British), and Chunseo (Filipino & Spanish).

KAACHI is signed under Frontrow Records, itself based in the United Kingdom. In a Q&A video where the girls answered fan questions, Dani shared that she and Chunseo went to school together, knowing each other for at least seven years before the group debuted. Nicole then met Dani at a "Korean B-Boy Dance workshop," with Coco meeting her would-be groupmates at Frontrow during training.

"Let's overcome this difficult time with the Covid-19 pandemic together," Junyoung Kim and the members of KAACHI said in a recent statement. Reassuring their fans, the UK-based K-Pop group added: "KAACHI will continue to show their growth with various concepts, good music, and performances as a global K-pop girl group."
