STAYC Makes a Grand Debut with the Release of 'Star to a Young Culture'

Black Eyed Pil-Seung's first self-produced girl group STAYC has officially debuted. Now, many fans all over the world are interested, and its fanbase may now growing! The group staged a showcase at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of Thursday, Nov. 12, to mark their brilliant debut in the K-Pop world. The showcase was also available to watch online, and needless to say, millions tuned in. With their debut being such an extraordinary achievement in and of itself, the members were undoubtedly emotional.

Sumin couldn't hold her feelings back and said, "I've been a trainee for about six years, and I still can't believe that I'm debuting. I will gratefully take my first step with the members." Sumin was a former Play M Entertainment trainee and was originally supposed to be a contestant of Produce 48. Despite not being a part of Produce, she trained for 5 years and 6 months. She also participated in VICTON's reality show, Me & 7 Men, as "the invisible girl." Moreover, she auditioned for Kpop Star, and was in Huh Gak's "The Last Night" MV. Finally, she joined High Up in 2018. 

Sieun was all-smiles as she added, "It's still unbelievable that we debuted today since we were preparing for our debut for a long time. I want to tell my members that they worked so hard until now. I was so grateful for your love and attention. On the other hand, I felt burdened because I wanted to live up to that expectation. I worked hard for my fans and I'm thankful for everyone that gave me their full support. I hope everyone can show us much love and support." Sieun is the daughter of Park Namjung and she has already appeared on many TV shows like "Happy Together," "Law of the Jungle K," "Kids Are Life's Blessing," etc. She joined JYP on January 18, 2017, and she left the company in 2020. She was also on The King Of Masked Singer. She's a former trainee and actress under JYP before she left the company in 2019 and joined High Up. She has also acted in popular K-dramas like "Mystic Pop-up Bar," "Just Between Lovers," "Still 17," etc.

Isa was introduced on October 13, 2020. She joined High Up in March 2018. Isa was the first member to join the company. Yoon was introduced on October 15, and J, the maknae of the group, was introduced on October 14. Fans cannot wait to meet the group members and are eager to hear their music.

When asked about their role model and who STAYC as a group, looks up to, the answer was unanimously Girls' Generation. They explained, "We want to be a team that sustains a close and harmonious relationship for a long time. Perfect performances are good, but we want to impress the public with the charm and individuality of each member of STAYC through our activities."

STAYC has been deemed a revolutionary new K-pop girl group from the team that produced several incredible hit songs for popular girl groups such as Twice, Chungha, Apink, and Sistar. Their first activity song, "DON'T TOUCH ME," was already produced by the same team. What makes STAYC special is that they're the first girl group produced by Black Eyed Pil Seung.

STAYC stands for "Star To A Young Culture," meaning "They will become a star leading the young generation."
