TRI.BE, who is just about to debut in the K-pop scene, has recently gained the attention of overseas fans, particularly in China.

TRI.BE (pronounced as "try-bee") is a new K-pop girl group jointly formed by K-pop hitmaker Shinsadong Tiger and the world's largest record label, Universal Music Group. Interest in TRI.BE started in December 2020 when reports revealed that the new female act was formed by Shinsadong Tiger, a songwriter and producer who is known for his numerous hit songs such as MOMOLAND's "BBoom BBoom," EXID's "Up and Down," HyunA's "Bubble Pop," T-ara's "Roly Poly," and many more.

Since early this month, debut materials like clips and teasers have been shared via TRI.BE's official SNS accounts. The profile images of the seven members have been dropped, starting with Jia and followed by Kelly, Mire, Songsun, JinHa, HyunBin, and SoEun. And recently, a video that contains the news of the new girl group's February debut went viral on China's TikTok or Douyin.

While the video features all seven members, Kelly, the only Taiwanese member, caught more the attention of Chinese fans' as she previously participated in the Chinese audition program "Youth With You," specifically in the third season. This is the survival show in which BLACKPINK's Lisa takes part as the dance mentor. Kelly was eliminated in episode 10 after ranking 64th place.

The news clip about TRI.BE's February debut received thousands of views, likes, and comments and is still increasing rapidly. As of Jan. 12, the video ranked No. 4 in all of China's TikTok and No. 1 on the "variety" section. This only proves how Kelly made herself known after participating in the said Chinese program.

Apart from Douyin, the new K-pop girl group has also been the focus of entertainment media in China after the upcoming girl group of Shinsadong Tiger and Universal Music Group dropped an "EXID Medley Dance Cover" on their YouTube channel. The members danced to EXID's "Up&Down," "DDD," "I Love You," and "Me&You" as they showed off their excellent dancing skills.

Videos featuring the members, titled "TRI.BE Manual" were also uploaded to the group's YouTube channel. Through these videos, fans get to know more about the members as Shinsadong Tiger and EXID's LE interviewed the girls one by one.

In particular, the first member to be interviewed was TRI.BE's Songsun. And during the talk, she revealed she is a cousin of Girls' Generation Yuri who has been in the entertainment industry since 2007 and has achieved many accomplishments both in K-pop and K-drama. Because of this, the interest in TRI.BE's debut has heightened, with fans wondering what the relative of Girls' Generation Yuri can show.

Meanwhile, TRI.BE is set to make its debut in the K-pop scene in February. So far, the new girl group has only revealed the profile images of the seven members. The group name is a combination of the words "triangle" and "be" - "triangle" symbolizes perfection, while "be" means "perfect existence." Many are expecting for the band to promote both in Korea and the United States.
