BUDY Goes Funky, Electro with "Sound Like" on Studio LIVE
Taking a new direction in her weekly Studio LIVE series, BUDY went for a funky electric vibe with her live performance of "Sound Like," released last January 14.
Now halfway through the end of her BUDY Studio LIVE, "Sound Like" marks the fifth entry in the Korean singer-songwriter's efforts to stay connected with her fans around the world. Since the global coronavirus pandemic has created travel restrictions and stay at home orders, BUDY wanted to keep her fans entertained, happy, and hopeful in these trying times.
"Sound Like is a song that makes me more excited when I perform," BUDY shared in her intro reel. She also shared that when audiences ask for "Sound Like" during her concert, she finds herself getting more energetic and more excited to perform.
Accompanied by EDM/ house rhythms and a funky bass line, BUDY starts off in high energy with the opening verses: "Let's get this sound like/ Everybody get sound like." In her song, she introduces funk to her listeners, describing it as a "funny style to soothe a weary heart." The upbeat song reminds global fans of the genre of music from the 70s and the early 80s, when similar sounds dominated the disco scene.

In her post-performance interview, she was asked what was the most memorable stage for her. She then shares that she remembers "every moment of every performance," instead of just one single stage.
"I remember the audience shouting "Budy! Budy!" at the concert. Those moments remain in my memory," the Slow Town Music artist shared. She adds that she believes these moments push her to try harder and create better music for her and her supporters.
Her latest offering, "Sound Like," also comes from her 2019 album "Budy's Midnight," together with her other hits done in her Studio LIVE series such as "Do Re Mi" and "Hey U." Fans can catch the latest episode of Studio LIVE every Thursday at 9 PM KST.
