Korean Media Outlet Selects The SM Idols That Would Be Perfect for a Female SuperM
In 2019, SM Entertainment debuted the supergroup, SuperM, with members from already existing boy groups. Now, Korean media outlet Insight has released which female idols from the company would best suit a girl group version of SuperM.

SuperM is a project group with members from SHINee, EXO, NCT 127, and WayV. Despite only being in the industry for roughly two years, the supergroup has already achieved great success. Their self-titled debut EP debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 charts.
Due to the success, SuperM has achieved, people are expecting SM Entertainment to release a female version of the group. With that, Insight has selected the idols that will most likely make the line-up, with idols from Girls' Generation, Red Velvet, and aespa. All three girl groups have achieved domestic and international success and are known for their vocals and charisma on stage. Here are the idols they chose.
1. Girls' Generation's Taeyeon
Taeyeon is the main vocal and leader of Girls' Generation. With her clear voice and amazing vocal range, she is expected to be a shoo-in for the line-up. Her voice has the ability to calm and heal all those listening, and many believe she is a necessary part of a female SuperM. It is expected that if she ever does join a female SuperM group, she will be the main vocalist and leader.
2. Red Velvet's Irene
Irene is an idol who is well-loved by both male and female fans for her doll-like visuals. She is blessed with a small face with big eyes, a high nose, and plump lips. As she is known as the epitome of the Korean beauty standard, people expect that she will most likely make the line-up if SM Entertainment ever forms a female SuperM. She is expected to be the sub-vocalist and visual of the group.
3. Red Velvet's Seulgi
Seulgi is an idol who is just getting more and more popular. Already famous for her smooth and sharp dance lines, the Red Velvet member has also stood out in numerous collaborations with other idols. Her vocals have also attracted numerous people and turned them into her fans. If SM Entertainment forms a female SuperM, Seulgi is expected to be the main dancer and lead vocalist.
4. aespa's Karina
Though Karina has just debuted, she quickly became a hot topic due to her amazing proportions and charisma on stage. In aespa, Karina is the main dancer and sub-vocalist of the group. Despite being a rookie, she has already charmed people with her dance. Many fans have even stated that they want to see Karina and Seulgi dance together on stage! She is expected to be either a main or lead dancer and sub-vocalist of a female SuperM.
5. aespa's Winter
Winter, who boasts amazing dance skills and vocals, has charmed people with her distinct vocal timbre. Prior to her debut, she gained fame for her uncanny resemblance to Taeyeon and continues to gain fame for her cute visuals. Because of how similar Taeyeon and Winter look alike, people are hoping the two will stand on stage together as a team. She is expected to be the lead vocalist of a female SuperM.
