TRI.BE, the new K-pop girl group co-produced by hitmaker Shinsadong Tiger and the Universal Music Group, is about to make its official debut in the K-pop scene.

TRI.BE is the first female act of TR Entertainment that is made up of seven members, namely Songsun, Kelly, Jinha, Hyunbin, Jia, Soeun, and Mire. Interest in TRI.BE's debut started in December 2020 when it was revealed that well-known producer Shinsadong Tiger has teamed up with Universal Music Group, the world's largest record label, to form a "global K-pop girl group that combines various skills."

Since early January this year, TR Entertainment has been teasing TRI.BE's debut, releasing concept photos and prologue films. The septet will launch a debut single album titled "Da Loca" on Feb. 17 at 6:00 p.m. KST. It contains songs titled "Loca" and "DOOM DOOM TA," which were co-written and co-produced by Shinsadong Tiger and EXID LE.

TRI.BE Members Share Statements about their Upcoming K-pop Debut

On Feb. 17 at 4 p.m. KST, just a few hours ahead of their single album's release, TRI.BE held an online showcase in celebration of their official debut. The members also sat down for an interview where they talked about finally debuting as idols. TRI.BE's leader, Songsun first commented and said, "I have been happy and excited about this moment ever since I started practicing. I have been a trainee for nine years. I had a lot of worries before my debut.

TRI.BE Songsun went on to mention her cousin, Girls' Generation Yuri who encouraged her to pursue her dream of being a singer. The rookie idol also talked about their group being a hot topic considering that hitmaker Shinsadong Tiger is their producer. She said, "He made so many hit songs, so I was excited and thought that I should do well. Our PD (producer-director) advised me to do my best."

Hyunbin added that Shinsadong Tiger told them not to be nervous and just show on stage what they have been practicing, and also not to hide their charms. "When recording, he guides us in finding our individual charm and personality," she stated.

TRI.BE Jinha also shared her thoughts by saying, "I wish we could dominate the music charts in the future. Our song contains our goal to move forward with confidence." As for Jia, she said that TRI.BE will strive to do well in performances, singing, and entertainment overall. "Our goal is to be No. 1 on music shows and charts," she added.

Jia also revealed during the interview that her role model is the world-renowned quartet, BLACKPINK. She commented, "Their performances are always cool, so we want to be like them who can perfectly show a variety of concepts."

What is the meaning of TRI.BE?

The name of the new K-pop girl group is a combination of "TRI," from the term "triangle" that symbolizes perfection, and "BE" which means "to exist." Put together, their name translates to "perfect existence." Additionally, the word is pronounced as "try-bee" with two syllables.
