Brave Girls Yujeong Wanted to Quit Being an Idol a Week Prior to Their Viral Fan Edit
During the interview, Yujeong spoke up about their song "Rollin'," which was released in 2017, rising in popularity four years after its release. She revealed that she was in denial for a moment, unable to believe that the song was starting to chart so long after it was released.
However, when she was the happy and joyful expressions of her members and the people around her, it too started to sink in for her. She was so happy that she started laughing out of joy!
Though Brave Girls is seeing success now, they did not always walk the flowery path. Yujeong herself said that both she and her other group mates had a hard time because they were not a popular group. She revealed that someone left them a comment to never give up during their comeback last year, and it touched her immensely.
"When we made a comeback last year, someone commented, 'Do not give up, girls!' It touched me so much that I cried at the dorm alone," she revealed
She then revealed that just a week before VIDITOR shared their viral fan edit of Brave Girls' "Rollin'," she and the other members of Brave Girls had considered disbandment.
"In fact, just last Tuesday, the members came together and said, 'We can't do anything anymore. Let's clean up our stuff and go," Yujong revealed. "But all of a sudden, everything changed."
She then revealed that a day after the video was uploaded, she and fellow Brave Girls' member Yuna both took out their things from their shared dorm. "In fact, Yuna and I brought back our stuff that was in the dorm. But the day prior, a video showing a collection of comments was uploaded. However, I didn't expect too much from it because I was afraid I would get hurt. The members even told each other, 'Don't expect too much from it.' It felt like the four of us couldn't do anything."
Yujeong then revealed that she had planned to return to her studies so that she could get a new job. "I actually thought about studying and preparing to get a different job," she confessed. "It has been six years since my debut. It's not that I didn't like this work, but it was just so hard. The kind of attention we are getting now is so special to me."
Brave Girls' Yuna Also Confessed to Wanting to Quit
During an Instagram Live back on Feb. 16, Yuna confessed that she was planning to pursue a different career path. During the Live, she informed fans that Brave Girls had no plans of making a comeback at the time and went on to say, "I don't think I can keep doing it like this. I've been thinking of getting a second job."
Yuna then revealed that she wanted to open her own cafe and be a barista professionally. She even hinted at leaving her label, Brave Entertainment, by saying, "Let us all be friends once I leave the company."
Yuna then went on to reveal that the Brave Girls members were no longer living in the accommodations provided by the company since they had no activities lined up.
