Veteran actor Kim Eung Soo has earned the ire of MONBEBEs because of his comments about MONSTA X Minhyuk.

On June 15, stage actor and singer Kim Junsu (also known as XIA) made a special appearance on the live broadcast of Naver NOW's "Eungsoo CINE."

Apparently, fans were angered by the actor's remarks about MONSTA X Minyuk during the broadcast.

JYJ Junsu Names MONSTA X Minhyuk as a Memorable Junior

Prior to the remarks, Kim Eung Soo created a good atmosphere along with Junsu, who talked about his career as a singer.

In the latter part of the show, the senior idol was then asked if there's any junior that left a strong impression on him. He initially answered that he's thankful to everyone, but Junsu particularly mentioned MONSTA X Minhyuk, where he shared their first interaction.

Junsu narrated, "When I met Minhyuk, his hands were shaking. Aside from being grateful, I feel the need to work and live harder so that I won't be ashamed of myself."

It is not a secret that the MONSTA X member looks up to Junsu as his role model. The two met last 2020 on the Naver show "Vogue Ship Show," where Minhyuk transformed into a cute fanboy.

Back then, the junior idol complimented Junsu's vocals, dance, acting, visuals, and genuineness.

To expess his sincerest thankfulness, Junsu fulfilled Minhyuk's request to sing "Love No More" as a duet. The former even invited the young idol to his house, proving their great senior-junior relationship.

Kim Eung Soo's Comments on MONSTA X Minhyuk Receive Backlash

As Junsu was talking about his junior Minhyuk, Kim Eung Soo asked if Minhyuk put pressure on him.

Junsu immediately shook it off and said, "No, no, I'm actually really grateful, but I think, 'Who am I for you to tremble like that?', but I'm really thankful."

In response to what Junsu said, the veteran actor implied that Minhyuk was nervous due to his lack of skills compared to the senior.

He said, "It's because Minhyuk thinks he won't be able to keep up with Kim Junsu (with his skills)."

Despite the awkward atmosphere, the idol tried to respond respectfully, saying, "Minhyuk is better than me in his own ways."

However, Kim Eung Soo continued with his comparison towards the two and said, "What does Minhyuk do better than Kim Junsu?"

Junsu then answered that the MONSTA X singer is really good looking, but the veteran actor suggests that even if Minhyuk is more handsome than him, it only lasts for three minutes.

Kim Eung Soo concluded by saying that Minhyuk is actually the best and will want to invite him and Junsu together if there is an opportunity.

As the episode concluded, there was already mixed opinions about Kim Eung Soo's behavior and remarks. Some internet users stated the actor was just trying to praise Junsu, given that he's a senior idol who has contributed a lot to the K-pop industry.

However, MONSTA X fans (MONBEBEs) wrote that praising an idol by downgrading other idols was unnecessary and disrespectful.

Since this incident, fans trended the hashtag #ApologizetoMinhyuk on the Twitterverse.
