CL Reveals the First Single from Her Comeback Album 'ALPHA'
It has been announced before that CL, a former member of K-pop girl group 2NE1, that she is preparing a new song with plans to release it during the summer.
CL Reveals Her Comeback Plans this Summer
CL will soon release a new song for the first time after over a year since her latest single, "Wish You Were Here."
"ALPHA" is CL's first solo studio album. She had initially planned to release the album last year in November. However it has been postponed because she will still add more ideas and songs, according to her label, Vericerri.
Last August 13, the album cover art and comeback scheduler of "ALPHA" was published on CL's official SNS channel.
CL showed a strong charisma as if a magma erupted through the previously released comeback teaser video. It catches the eye with its futuristic mood through the cover art of the album "ALPHA" and it is displayed with a blue light.
The scheduler released with it contains CL's finger pose and a schedule for the release of songs for the next 3 months.
According to it, CL will release the first single of "ALPHA" on August 24. Then the second track will be in September and the rest of the album in October.
"ALPHA" is CL's first full-length solo album to be released after 13 years since her debut. It is intended to introduce new songs so that they can take time to convey the meaning of the album.

The title of the new song is "SPICY," and because of this, CL has raised expectations by releasing its music video's teaser.
On August 19, the first music video of "SPICY," which was released on CL's official SNS channel, showed CL with different dancers standing together with a huge LED displaying unique patterns in the background. Then later in the video, the title of the single has been revealed, spelling the word "SPICY," which has an impressive metallic design. When the letters were completed, they disappeared.
The intense beat in the background of the teaser video anticipates that the song "SPICY" will be a hip-hop track that will catch CL's unique charisma like "Bad Girl" and "Hello B*tches."
The song was made special with the participation of actor John Malkovich.
The words "ENERGY," "POWER," and "CHEMISTRY' that were heard at the beginning of the teaser video were also part of the indication that John Malkovich has participated in the song "SPICY."
John Malkovich, who has made a relationship with CL before through the movie "Mile 22," has continued to maintain a good relationship as a mentor by giving some advice to CL. It has been rumored that with the narration of the new song, John Malkovich willingly accepted CL's request to participate in her album.
