According to CJ ENM, the theme for the 2021 edition of Visionary was centered on various aspects including "Human Centric Metaverse" and "Expanded Universe," where viewers were immersed in the content extending beyond the boundaries of time, space, reality, or virtual.
The other aspects are the "Hyper Entertainmentism," which refers to people who gave a new definition to entertainment by breaking the existing formula utilized in the entertainment field, and "Empathy for Coexistence," which is about having the realization of the value of standing together during the pandemic.
In the case of aespa, the rookie girl group was chosen to be part of CJ ENM's 2021 Visionary for creating a new fandom culture through introducing their unique universe featuring the avatar versions of each member.
