ITZY Chaeryeong and TWICE Sana Garner Attention for Visual Resemblance
ITZY member Chaeryeong has become a hot topic on South Korean online community forums and social media sites. Internet users have expressed their opinions on the idol's position and role in ITZY. Some believe that ITZY would be incomplete without Chaeryeong due to her unique visual, vocals and dance skills, while others argue that she lacks star factor and her visuals are not worthy of being an idol.

On December 19, a topic comparing the visuals of Chaeryeong and TWICE member Sana went viral on South Korean online community forums. The author of the post pointed out that Chaeryeong's visuals have similarities to Sana's. People believe that if Chaeryeong's face was shortened, she would look almost identical to Sana!
Both idols have almond-shaped eyes, though Sana's is slightly bigger. Both the idols have a sharp noses and have chubby cheeks whenever they smile. Both idols also have a thin upper lip and plump lower lip. Many say that they both have "mischievous" features, making them look similar.
However, not everyone agrees. People believe that the two look incredibly different and have visuals that are unique to themselves. For example, Chaeryeong's face is noticeably longer than Sana's, and her features are more fox-like. Meanwhile, Sana has a small face and has chipmunk-like features.

Some speculate an anti-fan made the post of ITZY and Chaeyreong with the intent of causing a fan war with the TWICE fandom. This has led people to criticize the post and ask the author to delete the topic. Meanwhile, some have noted some similarities but that it is still too farfetched to say that they look similar.
Some of the comments concerning Chaeryeong and Sana's visuals include, "They barely look-alike, stop making stories to offend Chaeryeong," "But they have some similarities, right?" "If Chaeryeong's face was shorter, especially her nose, she would look like Sana," "Chaeryeong may not be the prettiest member of ITZY, but she is competent. Chaeryeong dances well, has good stage skills, and is also good at singing live. Only ignorant people will diss Chaeryeong," and "No matter how much you mock Chaeryeong's appearance, she is still more successful than you."
