Why Did Park Jaeseok Leave Golden Child and the Entertainment Industry?
Prior to debut, Park Jaeseok was part of a unit for the W PROJECT, which involves releasing songs to introduce and showcase the talents of Woollim Entertainment's trainees. He was particularly in the performance unit, which also consisted of five trainees who later became his fellow Golden Child members (TAG, Joocha, Daeyeol, Jangjun, and Donghyun).

Golden Child officially debuted in August 2017 with their first mini-album "Gol-cha!" In the boy group, Jaeseok was given the positions of a lead dancer, vocalist, and visual.

"Gol-cha!" which features the title track "DamDaDi," was Golden Child Jaeseok's first and final music release as a member of the group and as a K-pop idol.

On Jan. 6, 2018, Woollim Entertainment announced that Jaeseok will leave Golden Child and halt his activities in the entertainment industry due to health issues and other great pressures from his activities.
Later that month, Golden Child made their first comeback as a 10-member group with the mini-album "Miracle."
During their comeback showcase, the band was asked how they felt about returning to the music scene with one less member. Golden child's leader Daeyeol responded that they respected Park Jaeseok's decision, and that they didn't hold back on their support for him.

Apart from these, Jaeseok also shared several photos of him in his military uniform. He actually enlisted in the army on Aug. 7, 2018, seven months after he left Golden Child. He officially completed his military service on March 25, 2020. He has since returned to his ordinary life.
