WJSN Reveals Talks About Their Change After Winning Mnet's 'Queendom 2'

Recently on July 5, WJSN, also known as Cosmic Girls, held a press conference at the Stanford Hotel in Seoul to commemorate the release of their special single album "SEQUENCE."

Their new album was released a year and four months after their tenth extended play "UNNATURAL." This also marks WJSN's first release since their appearance on the Mnet competition program "Queendom 2," in which they won first place.

In particular, the members talked about how they changed following their "Queendom 2" participation and what winning the show meant for them. The members shared that the biggest change in them is that they gained more confidence in themselves and their performances.

"We gained confidence because we are making a comeback after winning ['Queendom 2'], but we also felt a lot of pressure while preparing for this album. Many people have been looking forward to our performance, and we prepared harder since the feeling of pressure worked positively," WJSN said.

Regarding what fans can expect from their new album, member Exy said it will be an extension of their identity after "Queendom 2." She said, "I think you can see it as an extension of WJSN's identity after 'Queendom 2'. With the message that we will make our passion shine when we are the hottest and most beautiful is impressive."

On how the group has since since then, Exy notes that "Queendom 2" didn't bring many changes to the WJSN. However, the pressure that they feel to give good performances for fans had become greater.

"Winning on 'Queendom 2' didn't bring a lot of changes to us. We have always worked hard to present perfect performances to not disappoint our fans. To mention a slight difference, it can be that the pressure that is greatly affected by the good results [on the show]," Exy said.

She continued, "I did feel stressed out because of several things, big or small, but the result turned out to be pretty good. So, I believe that the pressure can lead to good results."

WJSN's Mentality Grew Stronger Because of 'Queendom 2'

Aside from the pressure, WJSN also changed in a sense that their mentality got stronger after competing on the show.

In particular, Yeonjung said, "My mentality got stronger when we competed in 'Queendom 2'. I think it wasn't just a competition, but also a fight with myself. After the show, all of the members became stronger. I used to have a weak mentality, but I became more confident and cried less after each round of the competition."

Eunseo also added, "I have been through many growing pains, but I am thinking more positive after we won. Through this promotion, we want to prove that the thought, 'WJSN had done so well and they deserve the win', is correct."

The members concluded by that they think their promotions for "SEQUENCE" is the brightest they have ever shined in their seven-year career.
