On August 25, a hacker who goes by the name Ratobot posted a screenshot of Jang Wonyoung's login profile on his Instagram account. The screenshot showed he was able to edit the idol's profile, showing that he hacked into the idol's account.

In his Instagram post, he tagged Jang Wonyoung's handle in a challenging tone.
Ratobot also shared an Instagram Story to send a message to Starship Entertainment, telling them to protect their artist's account.

Previously, the same hacker had taken control of actor Lee Do Hyun's Instagram account. Immediately after being hacked, Lee Do Hyun's agency, Yuehua Entertainment, released a statement.

They stated, "We are requesting recovery and action from the head office for the damage caused by the hacking. We are doing our best to resolve the situation as soon as possible. These activities have nothing to do with Lee Do Hyun, and we hope that there is no further damage."
