On Oct. 21 at that time, Kookmin Ilbo published a report titled "YG's first couple is born? CL and Song Mino, dating rumors." Yes, CL was rumored to be dating WINNER Song Mino.

Kookmin Ilbo said, "On the 21st, an article claiming that CL and Son Mino were dating quickly spread on various community sites. Photos of the two people together in a building that looked like a hotel and photos of them wearing the same accessories in the past were presented as evidence."

The media outlet continued that one of the "proofs" was a photo that CL posted on Instagram on May 17, 2018, when 2NE1 held a concert in the Philippines. On that day, the 2NE1 member shared three pictures of herself wearing a bikini on the side of a pool.
Kookmin Ilbo then said that the other "evidence" is a picture of CL in a hotel hallway wherein she was wearing the same hat and sunglasses as when she was on the poolside. The only difference is that she was wearing a robe.

"The man in a swimsuit in the photo is presumed to be Song Mino. Mino was also seen wearing the same swimsuit [somewhere]," the news outlet stated.
Kookmin Ilbo then said that CL and Mino were also spotted wearing similar accessories several times, and that netizens claimed the beaded bracelets and cellphone cases are "couple items."

Kookmin Ilbo's report was posted on online communities, like TheQoo, and netizens seem to not believe it. They commented:
"This is absurd."
"Why does this sh*t keep coming up?"
"What the hell are you talking about?"

CL's dating rumor with WINNER Song Mino spread like wildfire until it reached YG Entertainment, who swiftly shut it down. Representatives of the company spoke to different media outlets, expressing their disbelief: "It's so utterly ridiculous. The reports are of an unconfirmed rumor, and to top it off, the proof that's being presented is fabricated."

Another representative explained some of the photos, saying, "2NE1 went to the Philippines last year on a world tour and WINNER was a guest performer at the time. They were staying in the same hotel, and it looks like that's what the photos are from."
The rumor has since died down and is probably forgotten by the fans and netizens.
