On April 5, NCTzens were amused to learn of Mark's inspiration behind his upcoming song "Golden Hour."
In a few snippets shared by an NCTzens, Mark was seen doing a casual live broadcast, to connect and interact with fans. Since the singer will be making his solo comeback, it's understandable that Mark would reveal interesting details about his new music.
While fans believed the details to be something surprising, they were still stunned as to how Mark came up with his song, which exceeded their expectations.
During the livestream, Mark revealed that "Golden Hour" is inspired from an NCTzen's post addressed to renowned celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay.
His inspiration took the form of a fan's tweet in 2018, where the person's "boyfriend," was cooking an egg dish.
For further context, the photo was screen captured from variety show "It's Dangerous Beyond The Blankets," where the episode featured Mark himself cooking eggs.

With this, the chef definitely noticed the tweet, and gave his review. Gordon Ramsay, who's well-loved for his brutally honest personality, took the helm by replying, "Get back on tinder," savagely encouraging the fan to return on the dating app.
Moreover, Mark also used the egg photos as inspiration for the "Golden Hour" title design. The idol also clarified that "Golden Hour" won't be a diss-track for Gordon Ramsay, as he'll only be referencing the chef.

NCT Mark Releases Teaser Trailer for 'Golden Hour'
On April 6, Mark dropped a brash trailer for his upcoming song "Golden Hour," which featured the idol in stylish fashion and a music composed of a rough electric guitar riff.
The song's announcement was initially made on March 30. According to SM Entertainment, "Golden Hour" will be a part of their "STATION : NCTLAB." It will be released on April 7, at 6 p.m. KST, when fans can listen to the song on different music platforms.
In the video teaser, fans expressed their anticipation:
"This is going to be another masterpiece. Hopefully this will be Mark's last NCT LAB, because the genius boy really needs to release his first album already!"
"Wow, I really can't wait for the MV to be released, just the teaser, it's already cool, especially later the whole MV."
