Lucas Shows Support for NCT U's 'Baggy Jeans' in Bubble but Gains Negative Reactions

Lucas has trended online for his message on Bubble.

On August 28, NCT U officially dropped their fourth mini album "Golden Age." The album consisted of two main title tracks "Golden Age" and "Baggy Jeans."

The online community was thrilled when NCT released the music videos for the two tracks, sending additional bops for NCTzens. Stans were also ecstatic with the MVs that showcased NCT members' snapping energy and brilliant performances.

With "Baggy Jeans" gaining traction, the track didn't just get the attention of NCTzens, but also former NCT and WayV member Lucas. On fan app Bubble, Lucas expressed his support for "Baggy Jeans" by encouraging everyone to love the song.

Lucas messaged fans, "'Baggy Jeans' is too cool, please support it a lot," and followed up an adorable bear sticker holding a thumbs up.

However, netizens' reactions to Lucas' actions turned out different, despite his good intentions. The conversation ended up on a forum, where netters expressed their dismay to Lucas for showing his support to NCT and declared that no one cared about his message.

Lucas has been getting hate from stans even prior to his withdrawal from NCT and WayV on May 10. The idol has been the subject of discussion across numerous online platforms, due to his past controversy regarding an alleged ex-girlfriend and cheating allegations.

The former NCT member has been accused of manipulation and gaslighting, which both gained attention domestically and internationally, especially in China. Lucas would later on address the situation and apologize on August 25, 2021, via Instagram.

Aside from Lucas's personal controversies, the idol also received intense repercussions from stans and netizens when he poked fun at EXO Baekhyun's weight.
