BLACKPINK Lisa Makes History by Setting Guinness World Record with 'MONEY'

The main dancer's global impact is unstoppable!

On September 27, local time, Lisa was awarded by the Guinness World Records for reaching 1 billion streams on Spotify. The song in question was none other than the 2021 hit "MONEY," which is from Lisa's debut single album "Lalisa."

Aside from her current award, Lisa has also received three separate awards from the Guinness World Records earlier this 2023.

On January 24, the idol was bestowed for being the first solo K-pop winner to secure Best K-pop Video at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) and the first solo K-pop winner to claim Best K-pop at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Video Awards (EMAs).

Moreover, she won her third title for being the K-pop artist with the most followers on Instagram. According to sources, Lisa had 86.3 million followers on January 19. The singer has now accumulated a total of 97.8 million followers on the platform as of September 28.

Apart from Lisa's achievements, BLACKPINK as a group has also collected several feats from the Guinness World Records, which showcases their global impact.

Earlier on March 8, BLACKPINK received an award from Guinness World Records for becoming the most streamed band on Spotify. The organization also officially announced that BLACKPINK had surpassed British girl group Little Mix in dominating the category.

The K-pop sensation reigned due to their accumulated streams from all released tracks. This was derived from an overwhelming amount of 8,880,030,049 (billion) individual streams.

These songs include "How You Like That" (746,198,263), "Kill This Love" (672,084,360), and "DDU-DU-DDU-DU" (574,613,362).

Moreover on April 14, BLACKPINK received another Guinness World Records award for having 30,151,716,121 (billion) views on YouTube, which was previously held by Maroon 5 (9 billion).

Lisa Wants You to Drop Some 'MONEY' in Extravagant Music Video

On September 10, 2021, Lisa officially released her debut single album "Lalisa," together with its title track of the same name and side track "MONEY."

Later on September 24, 2021, the soloist released an exclusive performance video. As of September 28, the video currently garners 905,505,044 views on YouTube.
