On December 4, the organizers for the 38th Golden Disc Awards opened its official website, where nominees were displayed.
According to the committee's post, various artists were included in several categories such as the Digital Song Division, Album Division Bonsang, and Rookie Artist of the Year.

The details for the 38th Golden Disc Awards was first announced on October 31, when JTBC shared that the year-end ceremony will be held on January 6, 2024, at the Jakarta International Stadium, in Indonesia.
The committee also expressed anticipation on the awards show by elaborating on K-pop's impact and its continuous influence across the international music market.
"Many Asian music fans have demanded to meet their favorite K-pop artists, since K-pop's impact across the globe is gradually increasing."
"To keep up with this momentum, we decided to hold the show in Jakarta to allow more fans around the world to interact through K-pop."

The Jakarta International Stadium also has an 80,000-seating capacity. The 38th Golden Disc Awards will mark the show's fifth time to hold the event abroad.
Previously, the 37th was held in Thailand, the 29th in China, 27th in Malaysia, and 26th in Japan.
