Upcoming Girl Group TRI.BE Reveals Debut Date and Title of First Release

The debut date of TRI.BE, a new girl group co-produced by hitmaker Shinsadong Tiger and the Universal Music Group, has been announced!

In late December 2020, a source connected to Shinsadong Tiger confirmed that they plan to launch a new girl group in early 2021. The members of the upcoming Korean act are said to have versatile talents, unique visuals, and outstanding charms. It was later revealed that the group will be called TRI.BE, which is expected to promote not only in Korea but also outside its home country considering that Universal Music Group is involved in the creation and production of its debut.

On Monday, Feb. 1, TR Entertainment and Mellow Entertainment officially unveil that TRI.BE will be making their official debut on Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. KST with the release of their first single album titled "TRI.BE Da Loca." TRI.BE's Upcoming Debut: What We Know so Far

TRI.BE is read as "try-bee" and a fusion of "triangle," which symbolizes perfection, and "be" which means "perfect existence." It is made up of seven members, namely Songsun, Kelly, Mire, Jia, HyunBin, JinHa, and SoEun. In addition, the new K-pop group consists of various nationalities. Four out of the seven members are Korean, particularly Songsun, Jinha, Hyunbin, and SoEun. Meanwhile, Kelly is Taiwanese, Jia is Chinese, and Mire is Japanese.

Songsun is unveiled to be a cousin of Girls' Generation Yuri, while Kelly is a former contestant in the Chinese audition program "Youth With You 2," where BLACKPINK's Lisa took part as the dance mentor. Meanwhile, Songsun and HyunBin are former members of the pre-debut girl group of Banana Culture which was called Banana Culture Girls (Newkid). Furthermore, Songsun is the oldest member of TRI.BE, while Mire is the youngest.

When it comes to their debut single album, it was revealed in mid-January that Shinsadong Tiger and Universal Music Group are not the only ones taking part in the process. EXID's LE is also participating in the production. The female idol is known for being a great producer as she has co-produced numerous hit songs such as EXID's tracks: "Up&Down," "DDD," "Ah Yeah," and "HOT PINK."

With Shinsadong Tiger and EXID's LE creating the debut songs of the upcoming girl group, many are anticipating how the single album will turn out to be.

Content Released Prior to TRI.BE's Debut

Ahead of the official debut of TRI.BE, content featuring the new girl group was already shared. Months ago, TRI.BE shared a few dance covers including TWICE's "I Can't Stop Me," ITZY's "Not Shy," (G)I-DLE's "DUMDi DUMDi." They even made a dance medley cover of EXID's songs such as "Up&Down," "DDD," "I Love You," and "Me&You."

Other than that, Songsun and Mire dropped a duet cover of Heize's "You, Clouds, Rain." A segment called "TRI.BE Manual" was also released via the group's official YouTube channel. It is where Shinsadong Tiger and EXID's LE interviewed the members one by one.
