BoA Dating History: How Did the Queen of K-pop Meet Actor Joo Won?
Back in January 2017, the Korean media outlet TV Report issued an exclusive report stating that BoA and Joo Won are in a relationship. The two were said to have started dating after meeting in a gathering of their respective friends.
The report added that having the same hobbies and values has led Joo Won and BoA to be linked with each other. In particular, the two both enjoy hiking and golf. TV Report further stated that the two felt an attraction towards each other because of their healthy lifestyles and similar taste in music.

The local media outlet went on to say that Joo Won and BoA talk about acting, with the male actor having watched the female idol's "My Wife Is Having an Affair This Week" and giving her advice.
The exclusive report also included a few statements from a source close to the celebrities. The source described the two as "heartwarming couple" and that they can communicate well because of their similar interests and tastes.

Following the news from TV Report, Joo Won's side confirmed that he is dating BoA. The actor's management company said that the two began dating almost the end of 2016 but they can't give additional information as the actor was filming at that time.
In November of the same year, the local news outlet Xports News reported that the celebrity couple has ended their relationship.
Why Did BoA and Joo Won Break Up?
After nearly a year of dating, BoA and Joo Won broke up. The actor's agency Huayi Brothers confirmed this, although they said that it was difficult to know the reason and timing as the matter is related to their personal lives.
BoA's label SM Entertainment also verified the report but they didn't mention the reason as well. At the time of their breakup, Joo Won was serving in the military as an instructor of the 3rd Infantry Division.
Did BoA Date Anyone after Dating Joo Won?
As of 2021, BoA is not dating anyone. She is reportedly still single after the breakup with Joo Won in 2017.
About the type of husband BoA wants in her life, in an interview with a Japanese media in 2015, she said that she likes someone who will do the same things she would like to do. In particular, the female idol said that she would like a person with who she can share similar hobbies and beliefs.

Back in 2012, BoA revealed that Yoo Ah In was her ideal type during her appearance on SBS PowerFM "Choi Hwa Jung's Power Time."
