Park Bo Gum Speaks Out ABout Being a Former Idol Trainee; Doesn't Keep in Touch with Former 'Music Bank' Co-host Irene

Acting may not seem like a tough job but if you think about what actors go through for a role, you can definitely say that acting is not just looking pretty in front of a camera. It also takes hard work and dedication to the craft. Becoming an actor is one thing but staying active in the industry is a whole different matter. Not everyone is given the opportunity to make a name for his or herself. Some actors go big from sheer luck while others have to work hard. But for actor Park Bo Gum, he may just be a mixture of both.

Being only 5 years in the industry, Park Bo Gum has risen from a promising young actor into a bona fide star. After debuting in the thriller film 'Reply 1988' and becoming a household name after starring in the hit TV series 'Love in the Moonlight' there were those who thought that the actor was too young to star in a leading role or that he has already peaked in his career in Reply 1988. Fortunately, though, the actor doesn't let the negativity affect him and in fact, has stayed his kind and humble self even if he is now such a big star.

According to Soompi, the actor still says 'thank you' a lot and had even apologized for not being better prepared when he was interviewed by Yonhap News. In the interview, the 23-year old actor was asked about his singing in the soundtrack of the drama, he says "I'm really quite amazed actually. I have always wanted to do that and I really like seeing my name on the cover."

He would then go on to share of his passion for music but also clarified the rumors that he was a former idol trainee.

"Before I became an actor, I've always wanted to become a singer and have auditioned many times. I love music however, I didn't become a trainee. I was never a trainee unlike what a lot of people believe."

Aside from acting and singing, Park Bo Gum proved to be a good host as well when he hosted 'Music Bank' from May 2015 to June of 2016 alongside Red Velvet's Irene. 3 months have passed since they left the show and in a report made by Allkpop, the actor was asked by E Daily if he still kept in touch with his former co-host.

"Well, Irene and I had great chemistry but we have never contacted each other. Truthfully, I don't even have her contact number." The actor says.

On his experience as a host for the music program the actor then added, "I will never forget that experience. Hosting the show gave me the opportunity to communicate with my fans. Also, I was allowed to wear school uniforms, something I wasn't able to do while filming 'Reply 1988'."
