[Album Review] Hyorin - 'It's Me'

We all know Hyorin can make any song sound good so I am not erally worried with her album. Hyorin's newest album is titled "It's Me" so I am assuming the songs are her style. The songs in this track are what type of music she wants to do.

"Paradise" is a fun song. It is a good dance track because it still shows Hyorin's vocals. However, with the fierce competition as of the moment, I feel like she could have release something better. I mean, her pipes can deliver anything, I don't know, I just feel like "Paradise" is too lacking for a title track. Still a fun song.

Honestly, "Love Like This" (Feat. Dok2) is my favourite track from the album. I love Hyorin when she does a slow song, not exactly a ballad but not a dance track. I love "Erase" so much and this song is a close second.

"One Step" (Feat. Jay Park) is another great track from this album. It is also a slow song and more on the RnB side. The music video is also good. Jay Park's voice did not really add much to the song and they did not even sing together that much. I think I am too much biased towards Joo Young - Hyorin duet and I feel like nothing can beat that. But this ain't a competition so I am good.

I was surprised with this song, "Get Out". This song is definitely my favourite from the album. From the beat, the way Hyorin sang in it, the melody, everything is really good. I love that it is kind of sad plus she also sounds angry in here, I can totally feel her emotions.

"Slow" (Feat Joo Heon of Monsta X) is my second favourite song from her album. This is the type of song that I want Hyorin to sing, that I love listening to. RnB songs with great beats and Hyorin's voice fit the song so so so well. Her sad, fragile yet powerful voice and whisper-ish voice is so good for this track. This would have been my favourite track if not for the unnecessary rap form Joo Heon. I love Joo Heon but I feel like it was so pointless. Good thing it was just short.

"Dope" is Hyorin from "Unpretty Rapstar" reborn. "Dope" as the title fits the song well. I am not really a fan of Trap or EDM music so I did not really like the beat drop part. Hyorin's beautiful voice still excelled in this song so I did not bother with the beat that much. Her voice trumped over whatever trashy beats it has.

The middle of the album is great. I really loved the slower songs. I hope Hyorin will release more of those types of songs. I am giving this album a 4.3 out of 5.

Listen to the album yourself and comment what track is your favorite!
