If there is one thing that k-pop idols do best, it's probably bringing smiles to their fans' faces. Watching your favorite idols give their all in a performance, especially ones dedicated to the fans, can surely make anyone feel happy. However, there are also occasions when they could bring tears to their fans eyes, just like what BTS V did just recently in a fan event.

BTS V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, made hearts break as he revealed a tragic event he had recently experienced.   It truly was a sad day for BTS fans when he tearfully shared that his grandmother had recently passed away. For days now, fans had noticed that the young singer looked unwell and now, they finally know why.

According to Soompi, V said that his grandmother from his father's side passed away while BTS was in the Philippines. The 20-year old was in tears as he recalled his memories of his grandmother and shared how she had taken care of him for 13 years, regarding her as one of his parents. What's even more heartbreaking is when V told everyone how he planned to surprise his grandmother but unfortunately, fate had other plans.

Her grandmother's death was also the reason why V gave a shout out to his grandmother when they recently won 1st place on Music Bank. It truly was a sad moment especially when Jimin gave V a hug in order to comfort him. Before V concluded his message, he shared with everyone his belief that his grandmother is still with them, taking care of him even after her passing, Allkpop reports.

It was an event filled with so much emotion and most of the audiences were moved to tears but fortunately, it ended on a happy note as the group then performed one of their songs to the crowd of fans that cheered for them in support.

Condolences to V's family.
