BTS Suga Confirmed to Attend Big Hit Labels' Joint Concert '2021 New Year's Eve Live'

BTS's Suga will be attending the upcoming joint concert of Big Hit labels, "2021 New Year's Eve Live" along with his bandmates, although fans won't be seeing him perform.

On Dec. 28, an official from Big Hit Entertainment shared to Dispatch that BTS's Suga will indeed attend Big Hit labels' joint concert, which will be held on Dec. 31. However, the idol will not be doing dance performances and intense choreography during the event as per the doctor's advice, according to the source. The rep further stated that the company is currently focusing on his recovery by performing rehabilitation treatment.

On the same day, BTS's Suga shared through a V Live broadcast that since his recovery from his shoulder injury is going well, he will possibly attend the upcoming concert. The singer also revealed that he won't be able to do performances yet or even hold a microphone with his left hand since it has not even been two months since his surgery.

In addition, BTS's Suga revealed his current condition during the livestream. He said that he can't raise his arm to 90 degrees as of now. The artist described his arm as the arm of an infant, and also stated that he still experiences pain. Suga went on to detail his recovery process by saying that he continuously receives rehabilitation treatment. "I'm doing different exercises that are within my range of motion. Even though it's getting better, it's a slow process," he shared.

BTS's rapper then confessed that he feels somewhat impatient, but he is making constant progress. Besides his ongoing recovery, Suga also reassured fans that Big Hit labels' joint concert will push through with caution amid the occurring pandemic as he shared that the agency is taking thorough preventive measures so fans need not worry.

This past November, BTS's Suga underwent surgery to mend his torn shoulder labrum. It was reported that he has been suffering from shoulder pain for eight years since 2012. And, he has decided to receive an operation to prepare for his mandatory military service and singing career in the future. Because of his shoulder surgery, Suga was unable to participate in the promotions for BTS's self-produced album "BE."

He also missed attending numerous awards ceremonies, however, his fellow BTS members didn't forget about him. The boy band would always bring his picture wherever they go, reminding fans that the group has seven members. Recently, BTS used a snowman to represent Suga during their performance at the 2020 SBS Gayo Daejun that was held on Christmas day.

Meanwhile, Big Hit labels' joint concert "2021 New Years' Eve Live" will take place on Dec. 31 from 9:30 p.m. KST at KINTEX, Goyang, Gyeonggi-do. It will be held online without an audience to prevent any possible spread of the coronavirus. The star-studded lineup of the event includes Lee Hyun, BUMZU, NU'EST, BTS, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, and GFRIEND.

Former I-LAND contestant Hanbin will also be at the concert. In particular, he will be the pre-opening act. Special guests such as South Korean singer-songwriter Shin Hae Chul and American entertainer Steve Aoki, as well as American singer-songwriters Lauv and Halsey.
