BUDY Wraps Up Studio LIVE Series with 'Jazz Like'
Korean singer-songwriter BUDY wraps up her Studio LIVE series with a jazzy performance of "Jazz Like," with all seven videos to stay on her YouTube channel.
Her chosen hit is a fitting swan song to her performance series, which she launched as a way to stay connected with fans despite the travel ban and restrictions on live performances due to the global coronavirus pandemic. In a statement regarding the BUDY Studio LIVE series, she said: "I believe I could share fun energy with the fans, even though we couldn't meet in person due to COVID-19 pandemics."

In her intro reel, BUDY shares: "'Jazz Like' is a very unique song. I think I'm not limited to one genre of music, but I express my feelings and emotions of every moment through my music. In that sense, I think this song 'Jazz Like' has my own color."
"Jazz Like" is one of her first hits from her debut album "Budy's Midnight," originally released back in 2019. It immediately introduced the newly-debuted singer-songwriter as an artist whose musicality covers a wide range of genres. On "Jazz Like" alone, BUDY shows her proficiency in fusing jazz with elements of funk and a slight dash of hip-hop. This resulted in an upbeat track that works as a light party banger that could liven up gatherings or even solo listening sessions.
After the performance, BUDY returns to share with her fans how she tends "to listen to various kinds of music." She adds how she prefers to listen to various artists who have their own "colors" instead of just listening to one artist's music, getting musical inspiration from these very different sources.
BUDY's entire Studio LIVE series will remain on her official YouTube channel, according to a statement from her label Slow Town Music. Her on-stage performances of Do Re Mi, Fly High, Stray Cat., Hey U, Sound Like, A Week, and now, her finale Jazz Like. Her sincere efforts to stay connected, even with everything that has happened the past year, has been appreciated and reciprocated by fans all over the world. Her videos have received messages of support and affection in Korean, English, and even in Portuguese.
With prospects of a better future ahead of us, BUDY shared in a statement: "I love communicating with fans through music. I will continue to release different content on YouTube, so I hope you look forward to it!" She adds that she's working on her next song that might be released in the first semester of 2021 and that cannot wait to show her fans!
"Please wait for my next album and keep being positive and healthy! I love you," BUDY concluded.
Aside from writing songs in a mix of English and Korean, Budy has also expressed her gratitude to her Latin American fans with warmly-received cover versions of Mexican Latin pop icon RBD and their 2005 song Sálvame. She did the same with Brazilian singer IZA and her single "Dona de Mim."
