Red Velvet Wendy surprised fans when she revealed she was actually singing live while filming the music video for her solo debut song "LIKE WATER"!
Wendy made her solo debut on April 5 with her first solo mini-album titled "LIKE WATER." The album was released alongside a music video for the title track of the same name.

Recently, she and her bandmate Joy reviewed and reacted to her "LIKE WATER" music video.
"LIKE WATER" is an acoustic pop ballad that features Wendy's sweet voice accompanied by string sounds. The song expresses her gratitude to those who continuously support her, as well as her hope for the future.

On April 7, Wendy, along with Joy, shared an "MV Reaction" video via Red Velvet's official YouTube channel. At the beginning of the video, Wendy shared that she invited Joy to watch the music video for her solo debut track "LIKE WATER" as she would feel embarrassed if she watches it alone.

At some point in the video, Red Velvet Wendy shared a shocking fact about the filming of the music video. It turned out that she wasn't lip-syncing in all the scenes of the MV - she was actually singing live!

Wendy revealed that she was singing live for two days without any break. Joy then asked whether her vocal condition was fine while singing for two consecutive days. Wendy answered that her voice felt fine until the second day, after she finished filming the music video.

Wendy is the main vocalist of the girl group Red Velvet and she is known for her clear and powerful vocals. There are numerous videos of her uploaded online showcasing her stable voice even when singing live.

Red Velvet Wendy's Previous Releases Prior to Solo Debut
Before her official solo debut on April 5, Wendy has launched several songs before although it was a collaboration with other artists and not solo tracks.

Since 2016, she has been releasing singles through SM Station, a digital music project SM Entertainment launched in the same year. Wendy first teamed up with Eric Nam for the song "Spring Love." After that she dropped "Doll" with Kangta and Seulgi, "The Little Match Girl" with Baek A-Yeon, "Written In The Stars" with John Legend," and more.
Red Velvet Wendy also became a featured artist in two tracks. The first one is the English version of "Vente Pa Ca" by Ricky Martin. And the second song is SHINee Taemin's "Be Your Enemy," which is included in the male idol's "Never Gonna Dance Again: Act 2" album.
Furthermore, Wendy is known to have appeared in several soundtracks for K-dramas. Three of her latest OSTs are "What If Love" for "Touch Your Heart", "My Day is Full of You" with Zico for "The King: Eternal Monarch," and "Two Words" for "Start-Up."
