According to Rotary District 3590, Jimin donated a total of 100 million won (almost 84,573 USD). They added that the donation was made under the name of the idol's father.
The non-profit organization further stated that BTS Jimin's donation was given to a fundraising campaign that aims to produce vaccines to get rid of polio.
They concluded that the collected funds will be revealed on Oct. 24, which is World Polio Day. This annual practice was launched by Rotary International to commemorate Jonas Salk, who created the vaccine to eradicate polio.
Like many of BTS Jimin's donations, his recent donation to help the polio patients was made in secret.
Jimin's donation only became known to the public when a fan discovered a banner featuring the BTS member hanging in downtown Gosung, Gangwon-do. Gosung is situated in the South Gyeongsang Province of South Korea, which is just beside Busan, Jimin's hometown.
