Former 'Girls Planet 999' Contestant Huang Xing Qiao Speaks Up About Kep1er Huening Bahiyyih

On November 3, former "Girls Planet 999" contestant and Chinese soloist Huang Xing Qiao held a live stream to catch up with her fans on her birthday. People were leaving comments concerning the hate fellow contestant and Kep1er member Huening Bahiyyih was getting during the live stream.

As Huang Xing Qiao was reading the comments, she revealed that she received messages from her fans, saying that Huening Bahiyyih was being hated because she discriminates against the Chinese trainee. Huang Xing Qiao shut those rumors down, saying it is not true. She even states that Huening Bahiyyih has a good relationship with the C-Group trainees, and they all really like her.

Huang Xing Qiao then reveals that Huening Bahiyyih can actually speak a little Chinese because she lived in China during her youth. Though she was going to get into why she lived in China during her childhood, Huang Xing Qiao ultimately decided not to mention it in the live stream out of respect of her family.

For those who do not know, Huening Bahiyyih is the daughter of a Korean mother (Jung Yeonju) and a Brazilian-American singer and TV personality, Nabil David Huening, who was based in China during his active years. The Huening family resided in China for their father's career but soon relocated to South Korea.

Throughout "Girls Planet 999," Huang Xing Qiao and Huening Bahiyyih were only in the same group once For the Connect Mission, both girls performed "FIESTA" but were in different groups. Meanwhile, for the Combination Mission, Huang Xing Qiao performed Taeyeon's "All About You" as a vocalist, while Huening Bahiyyih performed BLACKPINK's "Ice Cream (With Selena Gomez)" as a dancer.

Huang Xing Qiao performed "Utopia" for the Creation Mission, while Huening Bahiyyih performed "Shoot!" The two only became group mates for the O.O.O Mission, where they were both put into group 2 to perform "O.O.O. (Over & Over & Over)." For the Final Mission, though they both performed "Shine," Huang Xing Qiao was in group 1 while Huening Bahiyyih was in group 2,

Who is Huang Xing Qiao?

Huang Xing Qiao is a Chinese singer signed under Origin Music International. In Japan, she is signed under Panda Record. She debuted as a soloist in China on November 3, 2017, with the single "Seventeen Years Old." Huang Xing Qiao released her first mini-album in 2019 titled "SINCE 1999."

She has since released OSTs for several Chinese dramas, with her most recent one being "Primal Vow" for "Mr. Fox and Miss Rose" in 2020.

In 2019, Huang Xing Qiao competed in the Chinese survival program "The Coming One Girls." Unfortunately, she finished the show at rank 22 and ultimately did not make the debut line-up. She then competed on Mnet's "Girls Planet 999" in 2021. In the finale, Huang Xing Qiao ranked 18th place, making her unable to debut with Kep1er.
