(G)I-DLE Has First Performance Without Soojin at Expo 2020 Dubai
On January 16, 2022, (G)I-DLE held their first performance in nearly five months following Soojin's departure from the group. The group was part of the 2022 Expo 2020 Dubai music festival line-up, which was held at Jubilee Park. This is the first time (G)I-DLE has performed with a five-member line-up.
During the festival, (G)I-DLE performed their hit songs "Oh my god," "HWAA," "DUMDi DUMDi" and "LA TA TA." The girls took breaks in between certain songs to talk with fans, catch up, and give their heartfelt gratitude for watching them perform.

As this is (G)I-DLE's first time performing with just five members, the girl group had to make several adjustments to their performance. Most notable, due to Soojin's absence, Shuhua had to take over all of her previous vocal lines.

Prior to Soojin's departure from (G)I-DLE, Shuhua was never assigned many singing parts. However, due to a member's withdrawal, she now has to take on Soojin's part. Many believe this is difficult for the Taiwanese female idol, as she is usually given shorter yet significant parts in songs.
Many acknowledge Shuhua's efforts but also add that it is difficult for her to take over Soojin's parts. While Soojin was in (G)I-DLE, she was known for her chic tone and charismatic appearance on stage. Meanwhile, Shuhua was known for her calm, innocent aura. Due to their difference in image, people believe it was difficult for Shuhua to do Soojin's parts justice.

People still feel unfamiliar with (G)I-DLE as a five-member group, and some commented that they regret that the Soojin is no longer part of the line-up.
Some comments concerning (G)I-DLE's performance read, "Taking on the main dancer's role is not easy, but Shuhua did better than expected," "Shuhua did a good job," "I don't want to criticize Shuhua, but Soojin was an irreplaceable color in (G)I-DLE," "Shuhua tried, but she could not match Soojin, "The stage is missing something," "I wish Soojin would come back," and "Soojin must be proud of their baby."
