On April 1, P NATION uploaded a teaser photo on its Instagram account to officially announce Jessi's comeback. The label previously teased that another artist will return to the music scene. They shared an image that says "COMING UP NEXT."

The teaser photo below has a Pokémon theme and shows Jessi and PSY as their own trading cards. The word "PSYMON" can also be seen at the bottom part of the female idol's card.

Moreover, Jessi's card has the number "413" and below the images is the date "2022.04.13." It signifies that the soloist will drop new music on April 13.

Jessi's comeback this April will mark her first one in a year and a month since her single "What Type of X" came out in March 2021.
It will also be her first music release in six months since her collaboration track "Cold Blooded" with the "Street Woman Fighter" dance crews in October of last year.

Currently, Jessi's "What Type of X" has surpassed 66 million views, while "Cold Blooded" has reached 62 million views on YouTube. This demonstrates the continuous popularity of both songs.
Because of the success of her two most recent songs, attention is focused on how Jessi's style, impeccable rapping, vocals, and performance will be shown in her first new song of the year.

Jessi's Latest Solo Comeback With "What Type of X"
Jessi dropped her new song "What Type of X" on March 17 of last year. She co-composed and co-written this track along with PSY and others. "What Type of X" is a pop-rock song with an addicting hook.
Through the track's lyrics, Jessi showcases her confidence and celebrates being different from other people.

On the day of its release, Jessi's "What Type of X" debuted on various Korean music charts: No. 4 on Bugs, No. 26 on Genie, and No. 34 on MelOn.
The track also made it to different iTunes Song charts. It debuted at No. 36 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart. It went on to climb to No. 26 two days after. This is her highest position on the tally up to date.
"What Type of X" even peaked at No. 3 on the iTunes Top 100 K-pop Songs chart after entering at No. 6.

The pop-rock song successfully entered the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart as well, debuting at No. 5 (her highest peak so far). It stayed on the chart for four weeks. It became Jessi's first track to do so.
On YouTube, the music video for Jessi's "What Type of X" accumulated more than 4.9 million views and 834,000 likes in the first 24 hours of its release. It became Jessi's most-viewed MV within the first 24 hours.
It later reached 10 million views in just three days. After two weeks, it surpassed 20 million views.

On April 27, the "What Type of X" MV hit 30 million views. It took the MV only one month and 10 days. With that, it becomes the soloist's fastest music video to achieve the mark.
It went on to exceed 50 million views in September and 60 million views in December (on the day of her birthday).
