The K-pop community is still in mourning for ASTRO Moonbin, who unfortunately passed away this April. With this, AROHAs are met with heartwarming actions and words from a SHINee fan.

Here's what happened.

Shawol Comforts AROHAs With Handwritten Letter & Chocolates

On April 23, netizens caught wind of a sincere action made by a Shawol (SHINee fan), following the passing of ASTRO Moonbin.

The K-pop community was met with unfortunate news on April 19, KST, when Moonbin passed away at the age of 25.

The late idol was found dead by his manager, who called the police at approximately 8:10 p.m. Regarding his cause of death, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station stated that Moonbin had taken his own life, before disclosing the details needed for an autopsy.

"It appears that Moonbin took his own life. We are now currently discussing plans to hold an autopsy, in order to determine the exact cause of death."

After confirming the reports on April 19, ASTRO's agency Fantagio announced on the 20th that Moonbin's funeral procedure will be held privately. This led to several ASTRO members gathering to see Moonbin in his wake, namely JinJin, Sanha, Cha Eun Woo, and MJ, who requested a leave in the military.

It was then followed by a statement on April 21, when they reassured privacy by emphasizing on not disclosing any details for the site. Fans have also made a memorial spot in front of Fantagio, where people are allowed to post letters, leave out flowers, and send their condolences.

On April 22, Twitter user "@LZlZDO8aSJ4xSVl" posted a tweet, featuring a picture of a handwritten letter pasted on a paper bag.

The letter translated:

"I'm a fan of Jonghyun. I came to send my goodbyes and worried that fans weren't eating well, so I'm dropping this bag of chocolates here."

"There's plenty for everyone, so please help yourself and keep them around to eat. (If the bag gets exposed under sunlight, can anyone please move it to a shady corner? Thank you."

Impact On K-pop Community & Industry

Not only did AROHAs in Korea made a memorial site for Moonbin, but also fans from other parts of the world. Various sites were established for people to honor Moonbin and pay their respects. Memorial sites were made in various places such as London, Dallas, Denmark, Los Angeles, Philippines, Australia, and many more.

As for the entertainment industry, numerous live broadcasts were held in memory of Moonbin. Idols on their busy schedules showed their respects by wearing black attire.

Moonbin's dearest friends VIVIZ SinB, SEVENTEEN Seungkwan, and iKON Chanwoo also mourned the idol's passing. The agency Mystic Story also canceled or postponed the activities of Billlie, the girl group of Moonbin's younger sister, Moon Sua.
