SM Trainee & 'NCT Universe: LASTART' Contestant Daeyoung Under Fire for Bullying History During Time in School

The trainee was caught in a controversial turn ahead of his exposure.

On August 18, a post was made by an author. There, the netizen recalled the trainee's history during his school days and his alleged bad behavior, which involves claims of bullying.

The author claimed that Daeyoung used to be a Daegu iljin. The term iljin is referred to a person or group of people with strong influence due to their social status. It wrote:

"Daeyoung used to be a famous iljin from Daegu. I attended the same school as him and whenever a transfer student has enrolled, he would bring his own group and drag the student to the bathroom as if it's like a welcoming ceremony.

He rolled up paper, smoked, engaged in fights every day, and probably committed school violence as well. Daeyoung created so much fuss, he even broke the school's wall one time.

He also brought a c**dom and made water balloons from it. If you view his videos on YouTube, there are already comments saying he used to be an iljin. I don't want to see him to debut."

The post quickly went viral across social media, due to having gained 871 plus upvotes. This led to the reactions of netizens. On the post, they expressed their disdain on Daeyoung, who has now received the ire of the online community. They commented:

• "The biggest issue here is that he's not even that handsome."
• "How are kids like him able to become trainees? This is so frustrating."
• "I seriously hope that not only school violence assailants, but also kids who played too 'awfully' wouldn't become trainees."
• "Is SM Entertainment in ruins?"

Netizens also followed up additional information and indecent screenshots of the idol. They claimed that Daeyoung had a name for his crew in school, as well as revealed that the idol had strangled first-year students through their necks on one occasion.

Meanwhile, in a separate discussion, netizens voiced out that SM Entertainment and every K-pop companies should be thorough when it comes to the trainees' background research.
