BLACKPINK's Lisa will have her own solo career documentary, which has been revealed to already be in production, Sony Music Vision announced Thursday during its inaugural content showcase in Hollywood.
Sue Kim will be the director for the documentary, which will showcase roughly one year of Lisa's journey as she pursues independent projects away from her group. The film promises to give fans a look into the artist's life both on and off stage, featuring behind-the-scenes footage from major career moments, including her solo debut performance at Coachella and her acting debut in HBO's "The White Lotus."
Kim, known for directing "The Last of the Sea Women" and serving as executive producer on Apple TV+'s "K-Pop Idols," revealed she has been collaborating with Lisa for over a year on the project. The documentary will showcase concert footage, personal moments with family, and intimate scenes showing Lisa's life in Thailand.
"This has been such an incredible year and I'm so lucky to have the opportunity to capture these special moments on film and share the experience with my fans," Lisa said in a statement. "Working with Sue Kim has been such a joy. We've been all around the world together and I know this is just the beginning of many more exciting things to come."
Kim expressed similar enthusiasm about the documentary film, noting that following the performer's transformative and thrilling year was an amazing experience for her. "There have been so many moments on her journey that I think will surprise people and give a glimpse into her world that no one's ever seen before," according to Variety.
The documentary will also highlight Lisa's evolution from BLACKPINK member to solo artist, including the creation and release of her debut album Alter Ego, which was released in February 2025. The project captures her transition into acting through her role in "The White Lotus" third season.
Sony Music Vision is producing the documentary in collaboration with Tremolo Productions, Salt Water Productions, and Lisa's own company LLOUD. The production team includes Oscar-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville as producer.
No official release date has been announced for the documentary and Lisa is currently scheduled to reunite with her other BLACKPINK members for their upcoming world tour, with the Asia leg starting in October.
