Niall Horan is drawing attention after praising BTS and reflecting on how boy band eras have changed during a recent appearance on the Therapuss podcast hosted by Jake Shane.

In the June 3rd episode, the former One Direction member compared his group's global rise with today's K-pop wave, saying the styles of performance and training are very different while still showing strong respect for modern K-pop acts like BTS.

He explained that One Direction's performances were more casual and less focused on strict choreography compared to K-pop groups, which he described as highly structured and disciplined.

Horan said each generation of boy bands brings something different, pointing out that his group often moved freely on stage rather than following complex routines.

According to Billboard, he then praised BTS directly, saying, "When you watch BTS dance, you're like, 'OK, honestly, I have no idea how to do anything you're doing, but it's kind of crazy what you're doing it.' It's pretty intense, but it's amazing."

Niall Horan Says BTS Took Boy Band Success

Although One Direction—which included Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and the late Liam Payne—did not rely heavily on dance routines, Horan noted their impact on pop culture during their active years.

The group earned 29 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 and scored six top 10 hits. He contrasted this with BTS, who have taken global success even further with seven No. 1 hits on the same chart, showing how K-pop groups have expanded worldwide influence in a different way.

During the same interview, Horan also spoke about his upcoming solo album, Dinner Party, which is set for release on June 5, Se7en reported.

He kept the focus mainly on music, but his comments about BTS stood out as one of the highlights of the conversation, especially as fans continue to compare different boy band eras across social media.

With his new album Dinner Party arriving June 5, Horan's remarks added extra attention to his return to solo music.
