"The Fact Music Awards" 2020 rented out a 5-star hotel to provide waiting rooms for the artists attending, and people are impressed. Keep on reading to learn more.
On Saturday, Dec. 12, The Fact Music Awards (TMA) took place. Many famous artists were in attendance, such as BTS, TWICE, IZ*ONE, MAMAMOO, SEVENTEEN, Super Junior, Kang Daniel, GOT7, MONSTA X, NU'EST, and more. Following the backlash the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs) got for forcing idols to use a parking lot as waiting rooms, people are now focused on the other upcoming awards ceremony and how they treat their artists.
People were surprised to find that "The Fact Music Awards" actually rented out numerous hotel rooms as lounges for the artists. And not just any hotel - they selected Paradise City Hotel, a five-star hotel located in Incheon, South Korea. It is known as one of the world's fanciest hotels and is the first Korean-style resort in East Asia that has both a hotel and numerous entertainment facilities.
The hotel is known for having insanely high prices, especially during peak season. However, that did not stop "The Fact Music Awards" from ensuring that the idols get an appropriate waiting room. All of the groups and artists who attended had their own separate room, meaning they could properly practice social distancing from the other groups and artists attending, as well as making sure that they are comfortable. The action by organizers was praised by fans, with many people thanking them for taking such good care of the artists.
It appeared the idols and artists enjoyed having the room to themselves as well! Many idols took pictures and even held live streams in their hotel rooms!
Earlier this month (Dec.), the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) was slammed for forcing idols to wait in their cars in parking lots but allegedly giving actors waiting rooms. Photos of idols wearing long padding jacket and waiting either inside their car or conversing with other idols outside their car were shared on the internet. However, photos of actors boasting their private waiting rooms were shared online. People then slammed MAMA for their alleged favoritism.
Following the backlash, Dispatch revealed that only two idol groups were given the privilege of having a waiting room. Other idols were forced to wait and have their make-up re-touched in their cars. It was further revealed that idols were made to use an outdoor portable toilet instead of the restroom in the venue.
Dispatch revealed that a number of idols opted to rent out accommodations in nearby areas to wait. Some company representatives have stated that many idols have bad backs, so forcing them to sit and wait in cars for a long period of time was extremely difficult for them.
While Mnet has stated that both idols and actors were allowed access to catering. However, it was revealed that Mnet told idols they could make use of the cafeteria inside the building and not to their catering. Most idols opted to bring their own food or order take-out instead.
