ASTRO Cha Eun Woo, APRIL Naeun, and More: Idols Select the 'Face Geniuses' in the K-Pop Industry
Daily Sports released their annual Lunar New Year idol survey. In the survey, idols from 22 different groups were asked to name who the best visual idol is, which idol has the best body, which idols do they want to get close to, which idol they want to be introduced to, and which idol they are looking forward to in 2021.

Daily Spots has been annually releasing the results for their Lunar New Year surveys since 2017. This year, 22 artists participated in the polls, including (G)I-DLE, ITZY, NCT 127, Kang Daniel, NU'EST, THE BOYZ, MAMAMOO, MONSTA X, BTOB, SEVENTEEN, STAYC, Stray Kids, Secret Number, IZ*ONE, ENHYPEN, Oh My Girl, LOONA, Changmo, CRAVITY, TXT, TREASURE, and PENTAGON.
All the votes cast were received anonymously.
Face Geniuses - Male Idols
This year, Cha Eun Woo was the male idol that was selected as the top visual. This is the third year in a row Cha Eun Woo has ranked number one in the survey, securing that spot for the first time in 2019. In the 2017 and 2018 results of the poll, Cha Eun Woo ranked second place. This year, Cha Eun Woo received eighteen votes, reigning supreme as the industry's top visual.
Second place went to SEVENTEEN member Jeonghan, who snagged 12 votes. Jeonghan is known for his fairy-like beauty and is extremely popular in East Asia, especially Japan, for his visuals that came straight out of manga.
In third place is BTS member V, known as the "World's Most Handsome Face" by numerous international media outlets. In TC Candler's "100 Most Handsome Faces of 2020" list, V ranked second place, rising above numerous international figures. In the 2019 version of the list, V took the top spot and was known as the world's most handsome man.
Two NCT members tied for fourth place, with the two snagging nine votes. Lucas and Jaehyun shared fourth place. Though the two have different charms, they are both undeniably handsome. Lucas is known for his loud, warm, energetic, and masculine energy. Jaehyun, on the other hand, exudes college boyfriend vibes. NCT member Taeyong followed Lucas and Jaehyun, ranking in fifth place.
Face Geniuses - Female Idols
The competition was fierce among female idols, with votes having a difference of one or two votes. The idol who rose above the ranks and took the throne is APRIL member Naeun, taking home nine votes. This is the first time Naeun appeared on the results of Daily Sports's Lunar New Year survey. Naeun is being praised as a next-generation visual, with features that perfectly compliment the Korean beauty standard.
Second place went to Red Velvet member Irene. Known as K-pop's "original visual," Irene was able to take home six votes. The idol recently returned to the limelight after going through an attitude scandal in 2020. It appears that despite what happened, Irene's visuals are undeniably gorgeous.
Third place saw a three-way tie between Suzy, IZ*ONE's Minju, and (G)I-DLE's Miyeon. All three visuals are known for their innocent visuals, which look that came straight out of a romance anime. Each idol received five votes.
On the other hand, the fourth-place saw a four-way tie between Girls' Generation's Yoona, TWICE's Sana, Tzuyu, and IZ*ONE's Jang Wonyoung. All four idols received four votes. Each idol has gone viral in South Korea, so it is no surprise they ranked within the top 5.
Some idols gave cute answers. Two people had responded with, "Everyone is pretty!" Another showed a humorous answer, saying, "Everyone from SM Entertainment."
