Wreath Demanding (GI-DLE Soojin's Withdrawal From The Group Seen in Front of CUBE Entertainment
On Mar. 2, a user on an online community forum shared photos of a wreath in front of CUBE Entertainment. Usually, in South Korea and other Asian countries, big wreaths as seen in front of the agency are used to congratulate others for special events and funerals. It is usually meant to wish people luck, happiness, or peace.
However, this wreath was not used for any of the said reasons.
The wreath included demands from CUBE Entertainment. One side reads, "Call for an investigation concerning the truth on Seo Soojin." The other side reads, "Do not just reflect on the school violence, withdraw from the group."
CUBE Entertainment did not respond to the wreath. Instead, it is suspected that the agency dismantled the wreath and threw it away, as a garbage bag was seen at the same spot the wreath was later that day.
How Did People React to the Wreath Sent Against (G)I-DLE's Soojin?
Many people lauded whoever sent the wreath to the company, while others found it amusing that the company most likely dissembled the wreath and even joked that they should send CUBE Entertainment a hundred more wreaths.
Some voiced out their disappointment with the company, as it appears that the public will need to use such pressuring methods to get a statement from CUBE Entertainment.
Previously, CUBE Entertainment denied all the allegations made against Seo Soojin and stated that they were in discussions with the alleged victims and school teachers. However, CUBE Entertainment has not made any follow-up statements since then.
Some people, however, stated that sending the wreath was not a good idea and said that it was also a form of bullying. A handful of people commented that bullying would not solve a bullying case.
The Bullying Allegations Made Against (G)I-DLE Soojin
Back in Feb., a user on Instagram called out Soojin for allegedly bullying her younger sister. According to the user, Soojin would physically hit her sister, as well as other students. Soojin would also instigate bullying through group chats. They also claimed that Soojin smoked and drank underage and would hang around older girls with motorcycles. Soojin was also accused of stealing money and other students' uniforms. Since then, more people have released testimonies against Soojin and her violent school behavior.
CUBE Entertainment has denied these statements, saying that the allegations against her were fabricated and stemmed from a phone argument between Soojin and the original poster. Soojin herself has released a letter, revealing that she did dress inappropriately as a student and smoked out of curiosity, but denied all the other allegations made against her.
Actress Seo Shin Ae released two cryptic Instagram Stories during the peak of the scandal. As it is known that Seo Shin Ae and Seo Soojin were schoolmates, people speculated that Seo Shin Ae was a victim of Soojin's bullying. While Soojin herself has denied these claims, some schoolmates have spoken up concerning the bullying Soojin inflicted on Seo Shin Ae. However, an alleged close friend of Soojin has refuted these claims.
